Limits and FAQ
Limits
- Apps are single-target SwiftUI packages for macOS 13 or later.
- No third-party Swift packages.
- No app icon, asset catalog or entitlements file yet.
- Apps are ad-hoc signed, not notarized.
- One build at a time per build machine, so jobs may queue.
- A build has a time limit. A job that runs too long fails.
- Access is invite-only.
- AI-written code can have bugs. Test an app before you rely on it.
FAQ
Why does macOS say it cannot check the app for malicious software? Because the app is not notarized. See Signing and first launch.
How do I share my app without that warning? Sign and notarize it with your own Developer ID. See Sign and notarize your app in 3 steps.
Can I put my app on the Mac App Store? Yes, with extra steps. See The Mac App Store.
Why does my build say it failed? The chat shows the compiler error. Send a follow-up describing the change you want, or ask it to fix the error.
Do you store my Apple credentials? No. We never ask for them. See Why we don't sign apps for you.
Can I get the source code? Each project keeps its source on the build machine, but there is no source download in the product yet.
Where does the desktop app save my apps?
In ~/Downloads/silicondevkit.com/.
