Getting started
silicondevkit.com turns a plain-English description into a native Mac app. This page takes you from sign-in to a running app.
1. Sign in
Go to silicondevkit.com and sign in or create an account. Access is invite-only for now: only approved email addresses can sign up.
2. Describe your app
On the home page, describe the app you want in the box and start the build. Be specific about what it should show and do. For example:
A menu bar app with a person icon. When I click it, show a popup that says "Hello, world".
3. Watch the build
Your project opens as a chat. The status moves through:
| Status | What is happening |
|---|---|
| Queued | Waiting for the build machine. Builds run one at a time per machine. |
| Building: Writing code | The AI is writing your SwiftUI app. |
| Building: Compiling | The app is being compiled. Compile errors are fixed automatically, up to twice. |
| Building: Packaging, Uploading | The .app is assembled, signed and uploaded. |
| Ready | A download button appears. |
If a build fails, the chat shows the error. Send another message describing what to change and it will try again.
4. Download and open
Click Download app (.zip), unzip it and double-click the app. The first time, macOS may block it because it is not notarized. See Signing and first launch.
Want to see what it makes first?
Browse the Apps gallery. Each page has a free download and the prompt that produced the app.
