- Build workerThe builder is now told to check a permission (microphone, camera, location, Accessibility and more) before using a protected feature, and to show a message with a Settings button instead of crashing when it is denied.
- Build workerWhisperKit (on-device speech to text) joined the list of packages a build may use. Built apps can now ask for the microphone, the camera and permission to control other apps such as Finder; before, an app that used the microphone closed when you pressed its microphone button.
- WebsiteNew Changelog page (this one), covering the website, the build worker, the backend and the desktop app. In the desktop app, click the version number at the bottom of the sidebar to open it.
- WebsiteGames: Hollow Point is the featured game and plays its gameplay video, and the Apps page has a Games row (Hollow Point, Flappy Canary, Bunker 13).
- WebsiteNew demo pages: Instant Screen Recorder, Quake SRP Player, N64 Emulator and Demo Video Maker.
- WebsiteNew docs page: Sharing and signing, with the new Save as .zip and Save as .dmg buttons explained in plain words.
- WebsiteApp and game pages show the newer of the page's version and the version tree's version, so a fix build no longer leaves an old number.
- BackendGoogle sign-in now refreshes your profile picture and name each time you sign in. The account API (GET /api/me) also returns your name and picture, which the desktop app uses.
- Desktop app 1.2.12Apps built on this Mac can now ask for the microphone, the camera and permission to control other apps such as Finder. Before, an app that used the microphone closed the moment you pressed its microphone button.
- Desktop app 1.2.12Apps that use WhisperKit (on-device speech to text) can now be built on this Mac.
- Desktop app 1.2.11The version number at the bottom of the list is now a link. Hover over it to see a hint, and click it to open the changelog on silicondevkit.com.
- Desktop app 1.2.10Your account picture at the bottom of the list is now a small circle, and the version number sits at the right.
- Desktop app 1.2.9The account menu (your picture at the bottom of the list) now has Usage and My account, which open those pages on silicondevkit.com.
- Desktop app 1.2.8A finished Mac build now has Save as .zip and Save as .dmg buttons next to Open app, for sharing the app with other people.
- Desktop app 1.2.8My apps shows each app's icon, and has a Website link that opens your apps on silicondevkit.com.
- Desktop app 1.2.8The Your apps list names each session with the app name, version and a short description. Right-click a session and choose Rename to give it your own name.
- Desktop app 1.2.8Your picture (or a letter) sits at the bottom of the list. Click it for your name, email and Sign out.
- Desktop app 1.2.8Apps that use the FluidAudio package (Kokoro text to speech) can now be built on this Mac.

- Build workerBuilds started from the desktop app can look things up on the web while they write your app (web search and page fetch). The website's builder stays offline.
- Build workerApps that use your location can ask macOS for permission.
- BackendA project started with Use as template keeps the template app in its chat, with the template's other versions as one-line rows.
- BackendMy apps lists gallery apps that are linked to a project for everyone except the owner, so the owner's own list is not doubled.
- WebsiteWhat it cost on demo pages now shows credits instead of dollars.
- WebsiteApp and game pages have a Use this prompt button, and My apps rows have a Change this app link next to Get.
- WebsiteNew Download item in the menu, a checkout success panel, and the copyright takedown page uses the hello@ address.
- WebsiteUse as template asks where to build, and links that start with macappmaker:// open the desktop app with the template or prompt ready. After a build, three What next? ideas appear.
- WebsiteMany new demo pages: Charge Guard, Wayfinder, Supertonic TTS, Flappy Canary, Local LLM Manager, Local Uptime Monitor (Docker Wrapper), Linux Sandbox, Retro Console, OpenEmu Launcher, Screenshot + EasyBlur, Android Emu Mgr, Free Chat and Hollow Point.
- Desktop app 1.2.7Builds started from the desktop app can now look things up on the web while they write your app (web search and page fetch), for example current API documentation. The website's builder stays offline.
- Desktop app 1.2.6In a project started from a template, each version of the template now sits where it happened in the copied chat, right after the reply to the prompt that built it. The version you started from is the big card, the earlier ones are one-line rows.
- Desktop app 1.2.5A project you start with Use as template now shows the template app in its chat: its icon, name, version and download link, with the template's other versions as one-line rows under it. It stays there as your own versions pile up.
- Desktop app 1.2.4A rebuild with no changes to how the app works. Projects you start from a template now show the template app in the website's chat; the desktop app will get that later.
- Desktop app 1.2.3A tighter New app screen: the heading and its tagline share a line, the starter ideas are one row you can scroll sideways, and the message box is shorter.
- Desktop app 1.2.3Compile on is one line now. A ? button explains the choice, so the long text no longer takes up space.
- Desktop app 1.2.3Template cards waste less space between the description and the Use as template button.
- Desktop app 1.2.2The What next? ideas now sit in a row above the message box instead of inside the chat, so they no longer push your conversation out of view when a build finishes.
- Desktop app 1.2.1Apps that use your location (maps, weather, nearby places) can now ask macOS for permission, so they can find where you are.
- Desktop app 1.2.0Open from the website: "Use as template" on silicondevkit.com can open the app with that template ready, and macappmaker:// links fill in the New app prompt. Nothing is built until you press Send.
- Desktop app 1.2.0What next? After every build, three ideas for changing your app appear under the result. Pick one to put it in the message box.

- BackendImport a public GitHub repo as the basis for an app (Pro and Studio, desktop app). These apps are marked unsafe and cannot be shared as templates.
- Build workerImported repos are checked and trimmed before the builder sees them (size and file limits), and a retry works on later builds of the same project.
- WebsiteNew /download page for the desktop app, with its version and what changed in each release.
- WebsiteMore demo pages: Soulseek Lite, Music Streamer +, Spot Downer, Cinema, Torrent Cinema, Screen Draw, Shelf and Drop Router.
- Desktop app 1.1.1Naming a GitHub repo in your prompt now only counts when it is the repo's own address. A link to a release download, wiki page or file no longer starts an import.
- Desktop app 1.1.1Apps that run virtual machines with Apple's Virtualization framework are now signed so they can start them.
- Desktop app 1.1.0Start from a template: the gallery's apps in a grid on the New app screen, with favorites and Use as template.
- Desktop app 1.1.0My apps: every app with its versions, downloads, version tree and GitHub sync.
- Desktop app 1.1.0Import a GitHub repo (Pro and Studio): name a public repo in your prompt and build an app from it, compiled on your own Mac and marked unsafe.
- Desktop app 1.1.0A bigger prompt box like the website's, with starter ideas, Return to send and a character counter.
- Desktop app 1.1.0Downloads open as a .dmg, with a shortcut to Privacy & Security for Open Anyway.
- Desktop app 1.1.0A "Builds are delayed" notice when the build machine is offline, and live seconds on each build step.
- Desktop app 1.1.0The finished app's icon, name and version shown above its download buttons.

- Build workerThe builder can find real model files (Hugging Face and GitHub releases, including .gguf language models) instead of guessing addresses, and the job log records each lookup.
- Build workerFluidAudio (Kokoro text to speech) joined the list of packages a build may use. The worker restarts by itself when that list changes, and the build step shows live seconds.
- BackendThe prompt limit is 8,000 characters on every plan, and errors are reported to Sentry.
- WebsiteNew guide: Build Mac apps with SiliconDevKit. A new flat Si icon on the site and in the desktop app. Narrate became Text to Speech (TTS) with Kokoro voices.

- BackendCredits: every build records its credits, each plan has a monthly allowance (Starter 1,500, Pro 4,000, Studio 10,000) and a per-build cap, and a build only starts if you have credits left.
- BackendPlans: Starter, Pro and Studio with Stripe checkout, a pricing page and a credits page.
- BackendVersion tree and templates: every build keeps its parent and source, Use as template copies a build into a new project, and shared pages (/t) show where an app came from.
- BackendGitHub sync for Studio: connect GitHub, pick or create a repository, and push each version as a commit. Pro and Studio can download the source.
- Build workerSecurity: the builder is confined to its project folder, Package.swift is rewritten by the worker, untrusted text is fenced, and the fix prompt is written by the server.
- Build workerCompile on this Mac: the cloud writes the code and the desktop app builds it. Bunker 13 and other games can pull assets from public repos.
- WebsiteGallery pages got a version tree, Use as template, a cost breakdown and the latest version number. Bunker 13 has its own game page and a 60 fps gameplay video.
October 5, 2026
- Build workerThe worker runs two builds at once, one live worker per ID, restarts on change and stops gracefully. The app's minimum macOS comes from its Package.swift, and the Stable Diffusion package was allowed.
- WebsiteNew landing page at /, the app at /build, a Demos page with 19 new demo apps, a worker-health banner, a cookie notice and the /notarize guide.
- BackendA monthly build quota, with a setting to change it.
