Clipboard
ClipShelf
A menu bar clipboard history with search.
Download for Mac (.zip)Free · macOS 13 or later
ClipShelf sits in your menu bar and remembers what you copy, so you can get back to something you copied a few minutes ago.
What it does
- Remembers the last 50 things you copied. Newest first. Copying the same thing again moves it to the top instead of adding a duplicate.
- Search. Type in the search field to filter the list.
- Copy back. Click any item to put it on the clipboard again.
- Clear all removes the history, and Quit closes the app.
- No Dock icon. It only appears in the menu bar.
Notes
It keeps text only. The history lives in memory, so it is cleared when you quit.
The prompt behind it
This app was generated from the prompt below. Paste it into silicondevkit.com to build your own version, then change it however you like.
Build a menu bar app called ClipShelf that remembers the last 50 things I copied. Show them in a popover list, newest first, with a search field. Clicking an item copies it back to the clipboard. Poll NSPasteboard for changes, skip duplicates, keep it text-only, and add a Clear all button and a Quit button. No Dock icon.
Opening it for the first time
This app is signed ad hoc and is not notarized, so macOS may block the first launch. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. See Signing and first launch.
